Please read the following carefully before applying.

The New Art Festival is a celebration of original, one-of-a-kind art. It has been organized to provide a high quality event for professional artists to network with the public and their colleagues, and to promote their studio practice. Selling art should be regarded as a welcome by-product of this exhibition and not its sole purpose.


SELECTION PROCESS & CRITERIA

  • Participating artists are selected by a jury comprised of practicing artists and arts professionals. Submissions will be juried relative to the integrity, originality, craftsmanship and artistic merit of the art represented in the images submitted. All jury decisions are final. 
  • Submitted images must be representative of the work you intend to display at the festival.
  • All artwork must be created by the applicant. 
  • TNAF only accepts original, one-of-a-kind artwork. Reproductions will NOT be accepted. For example: greeting cards, giclee prints, t-shirts & clothing, imported items, soap & bath products, work assembled from commercial kits.

EXCEPTIONS: 1. Printmakers & photographers can exhibit signed & numbered limited edition prints. Edition size must be 100 maximum. 2. Clothes can be exhibited if they are handmade, one-of-a-kind creations. 

  • Failure to comply with TNAF’s non-reproduction policy will result in being disqualified from future festivals. 
  • Registration is for individual artists only. Exception: Artists working collaboratively will be permitted to share a display space. Collaborative implies that more than one artist has worked on the pieces being submitted and displayed. Artists working collaboratively must choose ONE artist’s contact information for TNAF's communication purposes.

Fee is for BOTH days. There are no one day spaces available.

 

HOW TO APPLY 

TNAF’s two-step application process

 Step 1: Complete Online Application Form (below)
 Step 2: Mail Support Materials

  • All applicants must complete Steps 1 & 2. Incomplete submissions will NOT be processed.
  • Online Application Form AND Support Material must be
    RECEIVED on or before March 15, 2011 at:

  • Applications cannot be hand-delivered.

  • Support materials will NOT be returned to the artist.


 Step 1: Fill out the Online Application Form HERE.
Once completed, an electronic receipt of your application will automatically be emailed to you.

 Step 2: Mail the following Support Material (address in box above):

1. Five to ten professional-quality digital images on CD (minimum of 5 and maximum of 10)

-Images must be representative of the work you intend to display at the festival
-All images must be submitted in jpg format at a maximum size of 1024 x 768 pixels and 300 dpi. Do not submit files that are larger than 2MB.
-Clearly label CD with your NAME & EMAIL ADDRESS
-Do not submit more than ten images as only the first ten will be presented to the jury
-Slides, photographs & hard-copy images will NOT be presented to the jury

2. Image List
-Complete TNAF Image List. Download form HERE.

Note: TNAF Image List form must be used.

3. Artist Statement or Artist CV
-One (1) page maximum for artist statement; two (2) pages maximum for CV

4. Application Fee
-Refer to FEES & SPACE DIMENSIONS chart above for amount that corresponds with your requested space category
-Make cheque payable to the Art in the Park Festival Community
-Cheques should be dated no later than March 15, 2011. NSF cheques will be subject to a $50 administrative fee.
-The name on your cheque must correspond with the name filled out in your Online Application Form. If it doesn't, please indicate the artist or company name on the cheque.

5. Students
A copy of your valid 2011 Student ID if you are applying for a Student space. Students must be under 25 years of age.

6. (optional) A self-addressed, stamped postcard IF you wish to receive notification that Step 2 of your application has been received.

    Reminder: Support materials will NOT be returned to the artist.
