The Art in the Park Festival Community is pleased to announce that our festival will now be known as THE NEW ART FESTIVAL to reflect exciting changes that have been made to the event. The festival will remain Ottawa's largest non-commercial outdoor art festival. Featuring over 250 artists and entertainers from a full spectrum of disciplines, this annual event now draws thousands of visitors and participants from across Canada and around the world.

The New Art Festival is a non-commercial event, therefore we do not include any mass-produced goods, nor do we have any representation from large chains or corporations.  We will continue to be a low carbon footprint event and feature organic food providers from the community. All of the artwork, food and music at TNAF are the direct result of the artists and artisans who are featured at our festival. The organizers do not take any percentage of the artists’ sales.

Originally conceived by Bhat Boy in 1993 as an event to provide opportunities for up and coming artists, this important festival will continue to be truly unique in many ways. To honour our art community and all its hard- working artists and craftspeople, this year’s event will be fully juried. In keeping with our mandate to include input from the festival’s home community, one juror will be chosen directly from Ottawa’s Glebe district, the neighbourhood which has supported our festival for 16 years. The Art in the Park Festival Community is a registered Ontario not-for-profit corporation and is run for artists by artists.

The organizers, past and present, would like to thank the incredible group of artists and visitors who have helped to create such an important and enjoyable festival. Your continued support has fueled our desire to offer a unique and creative exhibition space for professional artists. We look forward to sharing the first weekend in June with you for years to come!

While the Art in the Park Festival Community is an autonomous corporation and the event is run primarily on the funds raised through applicant fees, we would like to thank the following for the financial assistance that made us happen in the past years:

  • McKeen’s LOEB, Glebe
  • City Councillor Clive Doucet’s office
  • The Glebe Community Association
  • The Glebe Neighbourhood Activities Group
